Of Faith and Knowledge is a four year course on apologetics and the Christian faith. The books include some of the best known books which may be acquired from many different sources.

Church History - The Ultimate Guide to Christian History by Carol and Roddy Smith

Spiritual Life - Christ in You: the Christ Life and the Self Life by A.B. Simpson

The four years can be studied in any order. While the books within each year may also be studied in any order, the accompanying guides give a 36 week with recommended assignments. This can make keeping track of progress easier.

Several different criteria were used in selecting the books for this course. As much as possible, we stuck with classics that have withstood the test of time and repeat publication. We also considered readability, availability, length and size. It was a daunting task to find the best books that would provide an insightful overview as well as hold the interest of high school students.

Level A

Introduction: Welcome to the series "Of Faith and Knowledge." The first part of the book, Evidence That Demands a Verdict, will be examined over the course of the year. In addition, you will learn about some of the basic teachings of the Christian faith in Know What You Believe, as well as learn about other religions in World Religions Made Simple. The Pursuit of God is a Christian classic that will enrich every believer.

Introduction:
This year you will be examining influences within the church, particularly those in the past, with a view to how they shape the present and future. The Ultimate Guide to Church History was chosen as a central part of this year’s course of study. In this, we have broken with our usual principle of choosing best selling books with wide readership as demonstrated by decades of use and multiple reprints. This book, which in fact is only a few years in print, was chosen instead because of its friendliness and readability.

You will also have the opportunity to read Christianity and Liberalism, an analysis of liberal theology by a respected scholar of the early 20th century. While it is acknowledged that this book is not light reading, you will find that the effort to read it will aid in your ability to follow the implications of liberalism in the church. All that Machen predicted 100 years ago about liberalism’s effects on the church has occurred.

Your study of apologetics from The New Evidence that Demands a Verdict will continue. The chapters will focus on answering the issues raised by different movements in society.

But one should never forget that an intellectual knowledge without an internal response to God is useless. Christ in You is a book that calls the believer into a place of submission and intimacy with our Savior.
